INTRODUCTION
The Experience of New Life in Christ supercedes all other Experiences! It is the Power of God at WORK in us to transform us and bring us into a relationship with Him as our Father, our God, Our Master and Lord! Thus, to witness this new, dynamic experience that places you in a right relationship with Jesus Christ there are Six Steps involved: 2 Corinthians 5:17 (NIV) Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, (that is the Relationship) he is a new creation (that is the Spiritual Experience); the old has gone (that is the old life of sin), the new has come (that is the possessing a new focus, a new life)!
STEP 1: ACKNOWLEDGE!
A. That is, see yourself and admit to yourself your own helplessness
and recognize and acknowledge your SINFULNESS before God! Romans 3:23 "for all
have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."
B. Your Prayer then is the words of
1. Luke 18:13 "But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look
up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, ‘God, have mercy on me, a sinner’ It
is essential that we recognize and admit to ourselves that our sins, any sin, is
that Which is separating us from the Lord Jesus and robbing us of the New,
Godly, Peaceful Life that is available to us! Sin is the problem that precludes
our witnessing a New Life in Christ!
2. Isaiah 59:1-2 "Surely the arm (God‘s Power), of the LORD is not too
short (Limited) to save nor his ear too dull (Deaf) to hear. 2 But your
iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his
face from you, so that he will not hear."
Our Spiritual Problem is not with God; our problem is SIN!
BEFORE THERE CAN EVER BE A NEW LIFE IN CHRIST JESUS, ONE MUST ACKNOWLEDGE and admit to God that he or she is a SINNER!
STEP 2: GENUINE REPENTANCE BEFORE GOD!
Repentance is possessing a Godly sorrow for Your Sin and confessing it to
God! Did Jesus have much to say about repentance? The answer is a big, "YES"!
A. Luke 13:3 "I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all perish."
B. Luke 13: 5 "I tell you, no! But unless you repent, you too will all
perish."
Notice that Jesus repeated it twice; in verse 3 and then repeated the same words
in verse 5. Jesus is telling the people that repentance to God is essential to
witness the New Life that is available to them!
C. The Apostle Peter drove the point of repentance home to the hearts of those in Jerusalem with these powerful words: Acts 3:19 "Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,"
D. Repentance is strongly urged in the verse below: 1 Kings 8:47,48 ...and if they have a change of heart in the land where they are held captive, and repent and plead (Possessing a Godly Sorrow for sin) with you in the land of their conquerors and say, ‘We have sinned, we have done wrong, we have acted wickedly’; 48 and if they turn back to you with all their heart and soul in the land of their enemies who took them captive, and pray to you toward the land you gave their fathers, toward the city you have chosen and the temple I have built for your Name; Repentance is seeing, realizing, and acknowledging that our sin is against God and has been committed. Thus, these verses make it very clear that we cannot separate Repentance from Prayer!
STEP 3: CONFESSION TO GOD!
A. 1 John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and
will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
B. Romans 10:9 "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord,"
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
1. Through Prayer, that of admitting your sins to God, your wickedness before
Him, and Confessing them and confessing to the Eternal God, observe the results:
a. Witness the Results of CONFESSION: "That if you confess (that is, pray) with
your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe (Power of faith) in your heart that God
raised Him (Jesus) from the dead, you will be SAVED."
b. CONFESSION- Romans 10: 9 is stating an open, bold, and courageous
proclamation of one’s faith In God and His Son Jesus Christ.
2. Such confession is, through prayer, recognizing the Lord Jesus as your Savior
and possessing SAVING FAITH in your soul! The result is experiencing the New
Birth-saved from sin!
STEP 4—TOWARD A NEW LIFE IN CHRIST-FORSAKE!
A. Isaiah 55:7 (NIV) Let the wicked forsake his way and the evil man his
thoughts. Let him turn to the LORD, and he will have mercy on him, and to our
God, for he will freely pardon.
1. FORSAKE! That is, stop, cast off, turn your back away from, and shun wicked
deeds!
2. FORSAKE! That is, change your mind-set; banish from your minds the very
thought of doing or practicing that which you know is wrong and displeasing to
God! Psalm 101:3 (NIV) "I will set before my eyes no vile thing. The deeds of
faithless men I hate; they will not cling to me." Psalm 119:37 (NIV) "Turn my
eyes away from worthless things; preserve my life according to your word."
B. FORSAKE the sinful lifestyle and TURN to the LORD!
1. That is, commit all of LIFE to the Lord!
2. Return to the LORD, meaning, seek to live in OBEDIENCE to God’s Will!
3. How understandable the Word of God is. If you desire and hunger for the
experience of the New Birth in Christ, forsake your sins and turn toward the
Lord Jesus!
STEP 5: THE FAITH TO BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF JESUS CHRIST!
John 3:16-17 (NIV) "For God so loved the world (YOU and ME) that he gave
(SENT) his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but
have eternal life. 17 (NIV) For God did not send his Son into the world to
condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
A. There is no LOVE comparable to God’s Love for humanity!
1. God so greatly and dearly loved us and the world that he gave up his only
SON!
2. God did not send His unique Son into this world to condemn it, but to save
it—to save you and me!
B. However, we MUST Believe!
1. BELIEVE! That is, Trust, Cling, Rely on the Lord Jesus as your Savior!
2. BELIEVE is more than an intellectual mind-set of accepting it as a historical
fact, there being a Jesus Christ who lived in Palestine 2000 years ago.
3. BELIEVE means to Surrender your total life to Christ!
C. The results of surrendering your life to Christ means the Experience of
the New Life!
1. One, it means that you have been set free from SIN and you will not perish!
2. Two, it means you will not witness destruction or be eternally lost!
3. Three, it means the joy of Eternal (EVERLASTING) Life with the Lord Jesus!
STEP 6: PRAY AND RECEIVE!
A. John 1:11-12 "He came to that which was his own, but his own did not
receive him. 12 Yet to all who received him, to those who believed in his name,
he gave the right to become children of God"
B. Romans 10:13 for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved."
This number 6 is the climax to the New Life in Christ! When we receive The Lord Jesus, He is to be the Heart, the Core of our Lives! Then this experience in Christ is a rich and enjoyable experience!

Step 1: ACKNOWLEDGE!
Step 2: A GENUINE REPENTANCE BEFORE GOD!
Step 3: CONFESSION TO GOD!
Step 4: TOWARD A NEW LIFE IN CHRIST-FORSAKE!
Step 5: THE FAITH TO BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF JESUS CHRIST!
