Faith United Church is blessed to be affiliated with Angel Food Ministries of Monroe, Georgia.

Angel Food is a non-profit, non-denominational organization dedicated to providing food relief and financial support to communities throughout the United States. Through a network of churches across 44 states, Angel Food helps provide food to hundreds of thousands of families at a discounted rate.

Each month's Basic Box is different than the previous month and consists of both fresh and frozen items with an average retail value of approximately $60. Comparison shopping has been done across the country in various communities using a wide range of retail grocery stores and has resulted in the same food items costing from between $42 and $78. The food is all the same high quality one could purchase at a grocery store. There are no second-hand items, no damaged or out-dated goods, no dented cans without labels, no day-old breads and no produce that is almost too ripe.

Also offered are specialty boxes such as steaks, chicken and pork. Many participants in this bonus program appreciate the expanded choices. Additionally, there is no limit to the number of units or bonus foods an individual can purchase, and there are no applications to complete or qualifications to which participants must adhere. Angel Food Ministries also participates in the U.S. Food Stamp program, using the Off-Line Food Stamp Voucher system.

OUR COORDINATORS

Gary and Sue Baade have served as Angel Food Coordinators for Faith United Church since early 2009. Both are long-time, active members of Faith United Church.

As the main contact for this important ministry, Sue processes the orders throughout the month, making sure the quantities are right and each month's distribution goes smoothly. She handles any problems customers may have and communicates any issues back to Angel Food.

Gary helps on Distribution days, making sure there is a truck to haul the food from the drop point back to our church, and helping customers carry their orders to their cars.

Together, Gary and Sue oversee an awesome team of volunteers that pitch in every month to see that Angel Food continues to run smoothly. We greatly appreciate them as they serve Jesus Christ and our community.

On-site orders MUST be placed by Sunday, September 19 - NOON. This includes orders placed in person, in the Drop Box, and mailed in.

Orders can be placed in person during the following hours: Monday - Friday, 10am - 5pm

Orders can also be mailed in.

Orders CAN be placed online!

Pick up is Saturday, September 19 (10:30am - 11:00am)
PLEASE BRING A LARGE CONTAINER (box, laundry basket, bin, etc.) WITH YOU ON PICK-UP DAY!
Orders not picked up by 11:30am will be donated to a needy family.
