Parents, are you looking for a place where your kids can learn about God that is
SAFE, FUN, and NEVER-EVER BORING???
Over
the last 5-7 years families with children have become the core group here at
Faith United Church. Since so many of us are parents, we take our ministries to
children very seriously. WE LOVE KIDS! Faith United Church is a bonafide, certified, kid-friendly
place. We love their giggles, and spills, and energy, and messes, because we know we're so much better off with them around!
We've worked very hard to make Faith United Church a place where kids can learn,
and grow, and laugh, and play. One thing,
though - we definitely do NOT consider our kids to be "the church of the future."
We think they're an extremely important part of the church of right now!
Jesus Christ
said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the
kingdom of God belongs to such as these (Luke 18:16)." Of course, we couldn't
agree more!
Yeah, we know, most of us who are grown-ups almost can't help the yawns when
someone mentions, "Sunday School." Don't let the name scare you! This isn't your
parent's Sunday School anymore! As part of our POWER ZONE Children's Ministry,
Sunday School at Faith United Church got a facelift a little over a year ago.
There is LOTS of music, activity, games, movies, and crafts,
all
designed to teach our kids the basic point of the day. While the children are
moving around, singing, giggling, playing and making stuff, they're LEARNING
ABOUT JESUS. It all begins during the Sunday School Hour, at 10:00am EVERY
Sunday morning. Our own "JAMMIN'" JESSICA SAMPSON leads a team of carefully
selected adults who take great care of our kids while teaching them some really
cool stuff.
On a typical Sunday morning at
Faith United Church children start out in the Sunday School Hour of our POWER
ZONE Children's Ministry. Then they hook up with their parents, or another
responsible adult, and join the rest of the Church in the Sanctuary for the
first part of our Worship Celebration at 11:00am. Faith United Church strongly
believes that families should be TOGETHER, so children are welcomed as an
important part of our Worship Celebration every Sunday morning. Right about the
time Pastor Steve is ready to teach the grown-ups through his Sunday Sermon,
children who want to are invited to head back to our newly-renovated Children's
Center for the second segment of THE POWER ZONE. It usually involves some more
singing, games, and activities that reinforce the day's basic point and lasts
until the Worship Celebration in the Sanctuary ends. PLEASE NOTE: Children are
NOT required to be part of Children's Worship every Sunday. While most of the
kids have a blast nearly every week, we completely understand that there are
days when one of them might feel like staying with mom & dad, or grandma, etc.
That's just fine with us. Kids are ALWAYS welcome in the Worship Celebration!
On
Wednesday nights at Faith United Church, boys and girls are invited to
join our FAITHWEAVER FRIENDS CLUB. It is the midweek segment of our
POWERZONE Children's Ministry. The Club is open to boys and girls from 2
thru grade 5 and starts at 7:00pm every Wednesday. There is always a cool
lesson, some fun games, a tasty snack and kid-friendly good times.
